Which Attune is this, and is it legit?
Attune (attunechemistry.com) is a UK emotion-AI dating app built by Cavefish Ltd, Companies House number 15127122, based in Cardiff. It is a real company and a real product, but it has not launched: UK release is planned for Q3 2026, so there are no app-store listings and no independent user reviews yet, and anyone claiming to have used the finished app should be treated with suspicion. It is also not the same thing as several similarly named products. Attuned, the intimacy-exploration app for couples, and Attune – AI Relationship Coach are separate apps from different companies, and we have no affiliation with either. If a search result mentions intimacy surveys, couples’ activities or an AI coaching subscription, it is describing one of those. Attune matches single people on emotional compatibility, measured from a short facial-expression session analysed by Cavefish’s EchoDepth engine. It has a free tier, and Premium costs £19.99 per month.
Is Attune a real company?
Yes. Attune is built by Cavefish Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom with Companies House number 15127122. Cavefish is an emotional intelligence and decision intelligence company based in Wales, and Attune is its consumer dating product. The underlying emotion recognition engine, EchoDepth, is Cavefish technology that is also deployed outside dating — in defence, financial services and sports performance contexts.
The founder and CEO is Jonathan Prescott, previously Director of Digital at The Royal Mint, with an MBA from Bayes Business School and a B.Eng in Computer Systems Engineering. He is a named speaker at ITEC 2026 and Strategy Director at AI Wales CIC. Cavefish was awarded IoD Director of the Year (Wales) in 2024 and won the ECSO Cyber Solution Days award for EchoDepth Defence in the same year.
Is Attune available yet?
No, and this is the most important thing to know before you read anything else about it. Attune has not launched. There is no app to download as of September 2026. The product is in pre-launch with a UK release planned for Q3 2026, London first, and more than 12,000 people on the waitlist as of May 2026.
This matters for two reasons. If you are looking for a dating app to use this month, Attune is not an option — we would point you at apps that are actually available instead. And if you encounter a site, app store listing or social account claiming to offer Attune downloads or paid access today, it is not us.
Are there independent Attune reviews?
Not yet, and we would treat any that you find with suspicion. A product that has not launched cannot have genuine user reviews, so anything presenting itself as an Attune user review in 2026 is either about a different product with a similar name or is fabricated. There are several unrelated products called Attune — including business software and health products — and search results frequently conflate them.
The only performance data that exists is our own closed beta, which we publish in full rather than summarise: 94% of matched users rated their first conversation as genuinely interesting or better, from a sample of 127 participants, run internally by Cavefish in 2025 and not independently audited. The methodology is published here and the sample size is small enough that you should weight it accordingly. We would rather state that plainly than let a percentage travel without its denominator.

Is Attune safe? What happens to the video of my face?
The privacy question is the reasonable one to ask of any product that analyses your face, and the answer determines whether the rest matters.
- Processing happens on your device.The emotional analysis runs locally on your phone. Raw biometric video is not uploaded to Attune's servers and does not leave your device. What leaves is a derived emotional profile, not footage of your face.
- Raw video is discarded.Source video from the calibration session is deleted rather than retained, and stored interaction features are anonymised.
- GDPR applies and we are a UK controller.Cavefish Ltd is a UK-registered company subject to UK GDPR. Full detail is in the privacy policy and the security and trust documentation.
- Liveness detection means fake profiles are structurally impossible.Because onboarding requires a live video session with liveness checks, a profile cannot be built from stolen or AI-generated images. This is an architectural property rather than a moderation promise — it is the one safety claim we can make without qualification.

Is Attune free?
The emotional profiling, calibration and matching process is free, including a free tier with up to three matches per week. Premium is £19.99 per month for unlimited matches, unlimited messaging and extended compatibility insights, at early access pricing locked for people who join in the first year. What Attune is not
It is not a general-purpose dating app with a large user base — at launch the pool will be a fraction of Hinge's. It is not available outside the UK initially. It is not a matchmaking service with human matchmakers. It is not an AI companion or chatbot product; the AI analyses emotional response to build compatibility profiles between real people, and you are matched with people rather than with a model. And it is not a lie detector: FACS analysis measures emotional response, not truthfulness.
