What the evening actually is

This is a working session as much as a social one, and it is worth being straight about that before you sign up. Attune has not launched. We have a closed beta of 127 people behind us and a UK release planned for Q3 2026, and what we most need now is people outside that beta telling us where the matching gets it wrong.

So you will be doing two things at once: meeting people, and stress-testing a product. If the idea of giving blunt feedback on something half-built appeals, you will enjoy it. If you want a polished dating event, this is not that.

How the two hours run

  1. Arrive and profile (4:00–4:30)A short video calibration on a phone or tablet. You watch a sequence of clips while the system reads involuntary facial responses across 44 Action Units. The capture itself takes about 90 seconds; the rest is settling in with a drink.
  2. Matching (4:30–5:00)We run the compatibility model across the room and show you who it pairs you with, and importantly why — which emotional dimensions it thinks line up. You will not have seen anyone’s profile or photos in advance, because there are none.
  3. Conversations (5:00–5:40)You meet your matches. Short, low-pressure, and no obligation to swap details with anyone. The interesting question is whether the person in front of you feels like a reasonable call or a baffling one.
  4. Tell us where it broke (5:40–6:00)The part we actually need. What felt right, what felt wrong, what you would have wanted to know. This goes straight into what launches.

Who it is for

Singles in and around Cardiff who are curious about the technology and willing to be honest about it. There is no age bracket — emotional compatibility matching does not work on demographic filters, and a mixed room is genuinely more useful to us than a narrow one.

If you are not single but want to see the profiling, get in touch and come anyway. Feedback on the technology itself is just as valuable, and you will not be put into the matching pool.

Your face data, plainly

The emotional analysis runs on-device and raw video is not retained — what is produced is a derived emotional profile, not footage of your face. You can ask us to delete your profile on the night or at any point afterwards. The full position is in our privacy policy and on the security page. If that part matters to you, ask us properly on the night; it is a fair question and we would rather have it out loud than glossed over.
